What this claims to do:
- 2-speed, rotating system delivers daily deep cleaning and gentle exfoliation.
- Water resistant for use in the shower.
- Replaceable soft bristle head brush.
- 2 AA batteries included
(above claims taken from back of the box)
What this did for me:
- The two speeds slow and extremely slow, was more of a hassle trying to get it to rotate properly on my face without placing too much pressure on my face. The head protrudes out quite a bit and this can't be slanted. Trying to find that perfect medium can take some practice. After figuring out where to hold it, be careful this whipped up all my hairs framing my face and I lost some hairs to the spin brush, ouch!
- From my experience this had no issues being used in the shower. So far this lives up to it's claim of being water resistant.
- This soft brush head is debatable. Soft compared to what? I think this brush can me a bit harsh for some when it comes to the face. This does rotate and not vibrate like the Clarisonic. The replacement brush heads retail for around $9.97 for two at Walmart. That in it own is a great price.
- I like the fact that it takes batteries. I like that it's one less cord to worry about. That when it dies, I can replace the batteries and I'm good to go.
- The Pro-X "Exfoliating Renewal" cleanser that it came with is an exfoliant. I'm not sure how well that sits with me since I was told to never put an exfoliant on anything that vibrates or rotates when it comes to my face. It's not a horribly abrasive exfoliant, but an exfoliant non the less. I was taken back at first use due to the lack of fragrance. There has no scent to this at all! For some thats great, but I like to have that burst of clean when I wash my face. This did not do it for me.
Would I recommend this? In the end, this was not for me. I don't hate it, but I don't like it. Like I stated earlier, the head protrudes out quite a bit making it difficult to use and is not exactly dainty. I'm unsure what to do with it at this point. I'm not going to throw it away, I may just keep it to travel with since it does not need a charger. At the same time this does not come with a cover for the brush head like the Clarsisonic. That means to keep t clean I'd have to place it in a resealable plastic bag, one more hassle. Ugh I had higher hopes. I'm a little let down.
